We've come to expect those types of notifications to come to us in real time (or close to real time) and companies don't always work that way. <br /><br />What struck me about Starbucks' birthday email is their claim, "We'd never miss a birthday..." and yet the email arrived the evening after my birthday. Maybe they should follow some other companies that send birthday emails a week or so before a customer's actual birthday.
