PodCamp Toronto 2011: Feb. 26-27, 2011

Once again this year, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a stellar and dedicated group of volunteers busily getting ready for PodCamp Toronto 2011 – a free unconference for podcasters and other new media enthusiasts – February 26 and 27.

PodCamp Toronto is less than one week away and almost 1,000 people have registered to attend. There are more than 80 sessions covering a wide variety of topics that will appeal to almost everyone and their grandma. Whether you’re new media curious, a dedicated online storyteller or a seasoned pro, there will be lots to keep you busy.

Announcing PodCamp Toronto 2010

Perhaps you’re wondering why I’ve been so quiet lately. I haven’t disappeared. Like the rest of an amazing group of volunteers on this year’s organizing team and sub committees, I’ve been busy helping to put the pieces together for PodCamp Toronto 2010 – an unconference for podcasters and other social media enthusiasts – February 20 and 21.

Our new website launched Sunday night and already almost 250 people have registered from all over Eastern and Central Canada as well as the United States, to attend this free event. Sponsors have been incredibly supportive and without them to cover the costs, PodCamp Toronto would not be free.

But one piece is still missing: the sessions. If you’re passionate about something or you have a unique point of view you’d like to share with the community, consider presenting. A session registration form will be added to the website soon, promise. And if there’s something you’d like to see me speak about, leave your suggestions in the comments.

Sharing from PodCamp Montreal

I attended PodCamp Montreal – a free unconference – where people from all over gathered to meet, learn and share information about podcasting and other forms of social media.

One of the rules of PodCamp is presentations are shared online. Many of the sessions were streamed live on Ustream.tv.

Check out the slide show from the session Connie Crosby and I gave about our new podcast

I was also part of a panel discussion with Kim Vallée, Michelle Sullivan, Rayanne Langdon and Isolde Legare, called “Managing the PR Beast: Building Relationships with PR Practitioners While Maintaining Credibility with Your Audience”. Simon Roy created an audio archive of our panel. He archived 10 presentations in all.

Enjoy!
