Our evening with NutriSystem spokesperson, Jillian Barberie Reynolds

Weigh-in (Day 28):
Tamsin - 1.5 pounds (-5.5 pounds to-date)
Eden -.8 pound (-7.2 pounds to-date)

Being a blogger has its perks, like 12 free weeks of NutriSystem. Last night, NutriSystem had something else in store. They hosted a blogger event at Atom Egoyan’s CAMERA bar – one of the coolest venues I’ve seen in a while. It’s the perfect spot for mingling with an intimate crowd and has a small screening room at the back.

Tamsin and I were there and joined by Kathryn and Henna. They’d been following our weight loss adventures on the blog and were curious to see what all the fuss was about.

As for dinner, there were plenty of raw fruits, veggies and NutriSystem-friendly hors d’oeuvres on hand. For the curious and those with a sweet tooth, there were a few trays with NutriSystem desserts. Who would have thought of entertaining with them? Somehow, it worked.

Burlington born Jillian Barberie Reynolds hung out with the crowd and shared her experiences living in La La Land and losing her 41lbs. pregnancy weight gain with the help of NutriSystem.

She is a genuine, warm and funny woman who says what’s on her mind. I videotaped her speech so I could share it with you. Unfortunately, at 13+ minutes it was too much for my digicam to handle. You may have seen her on Breakfast Television this morning.

I asked Jillian how she’s managed to maintain her weight. Her answer was simple: although her husband is a great cook, she also likes NutriSystem food and includes it as part of her regular diet.

Another perk of the evening was having the chance to get to know Tamsin. That’s her in the picture with Jillian Barberie.

Jillian and Nutrisystem should be ashamed of themselves for their misleading ad.

Jillian has always had a personal trainer, and never eats carbs - she says so constantly on "Good Day L.A."

It was only baby weight, and this ad is a lie and misleading. She was small before the baby, and has always been known to damn near starve herself.

The ad has a tiny disclaimer that says, "results not typical." It should say, "results never happened."

This ad is an out-and-out lie.

I am so very dissapointed with NutriSystem. We, here in the bay area have known Jillian for years, we see her almost daily, and the only weight she has ever had was during her pregnancy. Shame on you NutriSystem. And poor Billie Jean has always been a Box shape. Nothing to evaluate there.

  5. Anonymous, Thanks for stopping by and sharing another point of view.

I had a great experience with NutriSystem and was able to keep the weight off as long as I stayed disciplined following the program. It was quick and relatively easy. I can't speak to the price since I received it free of charge.

The past few months, I haven't been as disciplined as I'd like and I've put some of the weight back on but I'm determined to try it again and see what happens.
