Giveaway: Bargainsta banishes bad hair days

If you’ve been here for a while, you already know that the nice folks at Conair gave me an Infiniti Nano Silver Steam Straightener. Now they want to share the love with three of you. And, to sweeten the pot, John Frieda is including a prize pack of hair care products. (I’m getting one to check out too!) Update: John Frieda has decided to include a second package of products for the three lucky winners.

All you need to do is tell me why you need help banishing bad hair days by either:
leaving a comment; or
writing a blog post; or
posting your bad hair picture to Flickr (you know what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words); or
posting a brief video (2 min. max) to YouTube explaining why you want to banish bad hair days.

If you go with a blog post, photo or video entry, be sure to tag it “#bargainista” and send me an email with a link - make sure to include “banish bad hair” in the subject line. Feel free to use other photo of video sharing sights. You must also allow blog posts, photos and videos to be posted on Bargainista.ca.

Peter Ciardulli from Calia Hair Design is judging – he’s my hairdresser and he knows a bad hair day when he sees one.

Entries are due by midnight EST on Tuesday, December 23. Open to Canadian residents only. Anonymous entries will be disqualified. The good folks at Thornley Fallis will make every effort to deliver prize packs to you before New Years’ Eve.

  1. I would love to have this hair straightener because:

Everytime my friends see me they tell me I look like I just got out of bed. While that look can be appealing on, say, a 4th date, it is not a good look for me while hosting clients at my fine art gallery. Help me look more professional, Conair and John Frieda!

  4. Would love to win this! I live in FL and the humidity wrecks my hair as soon as I step outside! It turns into a huge poof ball!

  5. Carla, sounds like there's a lot of high-maintenance hair in your household. Good luck!

Just Kelly, thanks for entering. The giveaway is offered for Canadian residents only.

  6. I would be very grateful to win this. As with most Moms; my hair is always up in a ponytail. When faced with a "no ponytail" occasion (i.e. date night) - I leave it down a look more like John Lennon than a yummy mummy.

I need to Conair and John Frieda help!

  7. I have the wavy/curly that you do, Eden. I can spend 45 mins with a flat iron and have waves again within a few minutes.

I've reposted the link to your contest on my blog.

  8. This would help a lot. I have wavy hair. SO in the humidity it goes nuts. It's also very long so it's hard to control. I love straightning my hair but it takes forever with ah air dryer so this would be a godsend.

I love baseball caps and or hair clips for when my hair goes nuts!

  9. I have fine yet thick hair (lots of it!!), with a bit of wave. It's impossible to look polished and put together without straightening and my straightener is on its last legs...

I covet this straightener because I have discovered that not all flat irons are created equal! And in this damp world called Toronto, I need all the help I can get. A good straightener is the only way I can tame my unruly mop of wavy, frizzy hair. Then I could banish bad hair days forever.

  11. i would love, love, love this...why you ask?

because my hair lives in a pony tail. it is a poufy mess when it's down and i can't deal with it, and my straightener is busted and outta commission. any and all the help i can get would be greatly appreciated.
have also heard wonderful things about john freida and need all the help!

  12. Bargainista, what a wonderful contest! :) I generally destroy pictures of my "bad-hair-days", so I can't seem to find one right now. But believe me, they happen often!
I have fine hair, but there is a lot of it! My hair is somewhere between too short to put in a pony tail and not long enough to look good without a lot of manipulating!
I am toying with the idea of letting it grow long again, but I don't know if I have the patience to let it grow out!
When I have the time and patience I am flat-ironing for about 40 minutes! Only to have the waves come back three minutes out the door! I have a stubborn "cow-lick" to the left of my part that takes extra attention to calm. And the ends are forever curling in different directions!
My poor flatiron is on its last legs and I have been trying to justify buying a new one.
I would love to be one of the luck three that get picked for this prize! I know my hair would be more than grateful!
    :)

  14. Alright, so I read this post yesterday and I was hesitant to enter the contest because I didn't feel I needed a new straightener. I figured someone was probably more deserving of such an awesome prize. Sure enough, I wake up this morning, shower, blow dry my hair, plug in my hair straightener and it FRIZZLED. It wouldn't turn on and the screen kept saying "error". If I could show you a picture of my puffy hair right now, I think I would make an excellent candidate.

I would like to banish bad hair for myself so I can have more than one good hair day in a row. I would like to feel good about myself all of the time.

I've got a thick mop of fine hair that won't do anything I tell it to. Add the Nova Scotia humidity into the mix and good hair days are few and far between.

    Help!

i really need the straightner because the one i have is on the fritz! it's so hard to manage my hair and to straighten it in the morning because i just have no time and my straigtner is no good! so i usually end up with half a head of straightened hair and half un-straightened. And trust me it can get ugly sometimes!!

i really need this straigtner because if a birds nest, a mop and a rug had a baby that would be what my hair resembles! Without straigtning i would have to tie it up in a bun if i wanted to go out without my hair scaring a little kid! I swear it has a life of its own and its taking over my life! I need a new straigtner because my straigtner isn't that great right now! please give me the straightner to save children from awful nightmares of my hair attacking them!!

  23. Thanks for all the incredible entries. We're running a bit behind on the judging - blame me. ;-) I promise to announce the winners as soon as possible.

    Cheers,
