I am in love with the new ipods! The ipod classic, with more storage for the original price, has definitely secured a position on my birthday wish list.
I'm torn. I want one of each. The nanos are so cute and compact. The classics are by far the best value. And, the touch is just so darn cool as far as gadgets go. I'm just not sure how practical it is without the phone service 'cause I think you need to be around a WiFi hotspot for it to work.
If you want to send emails you need the Wi-Fi. I already own an iPod classic. The iPod Touch is great for Web browsing; you could go on Facebook while you eat at a food court or a cafe. My husband and I plan to share one iPod Touch. If it is the music that interests you, get the classic. The lighter Nano is more practical if you want to use it at the gym.
Kim, great thoughts. Thanks.I really need a portable device for online communications when I'm away from a computer. I'm concerned about the low memory capacity of the iPod Touch. Should I be?I like the shuffle for the gym etc. because it's so small and you can actually clip it on to your clothes. Read about the upcoming rebate for the first group of iPhone customers.
I have been using a blackberry for work, and wonder if the Touch could take its place. I mostly use it for email, calendar and web surfing. Sounds possible...and cool.
